About Maneki:
Founded in Austin, Texas in 2005, Maneki is a line of jewelry that re-imagines vintage pieces into modern, wearable accessories for today. Designer Sarah Eastep collects lovely components from years past and combines them with new elements. She hand-selects components with an eye for color, texture, shape, and proportion. Animals, flowers, and other images from nature are all featured in the Maneki line.
About the Designer:
Sarah Eastep studied fashion and business at Lamar University, and she graduated from Lamar in 2002 with a degree in business. She finds inspiration everywhere—nature, antiques, architecture, music, and fictional characters all inspire her life and her designs for Maneki. She lives and works in Austin, Texas.
What is Maneki?
The name Maneki comes from Maneki Neko, or “Lucky Cat.” These good luck cats are often found at the entrances of businesses, and they are said to beckon happiness and good fortune.
