my purse needs are complicated and specific

A lot of people think I have a lot of purses because I am a “purse person.”  Not true!  I like them (I love accessories), but I have to say, the real reason is that my needs are so complex!  For a purse to make it into heavy rotation, it has to pass the following tests:

1.  It should be a shoulder bag, but–this is the most important requirement–it needs to not slide off my arm as I walk (this is why my mint condition vintage tooled leather bag never sees the outside of my closet).

2.  It needs to be big enough to hold my digital SLR/its case.  I have a relatively close-fitting case, but this is still probably the toughest hurdle.  I might have to let this one go.

3.  If I happen to be carrying it during Austin’s 3/4-of-the-year-long summer, it can’t be made of a fabric that will make me hot–no corduroys, wools, etc.

There are more restrictions, but as that’s already kind of a tall order, I’ll just share a few of my favorites from my never-ending search.

From Cut + Paste:

1.  The Sunburst Tote

The Deep V:

From Good Morning, Morning, Tiles–because I love green as a neutral:

One of these might just have to be my birthday present to myself.

Yay for your new blog! I just found the next purse I want, it’s made by English Retreads. They are made from recycled tires. I got to see them up close and personal at the Denver show. They are amazing!
